Still, until y till, diferencias y usos

Pregunta:

- Are you still at the office?  ¿Estás todavía en la oficina?

- Is she still in Paris? ¿Está (ella) todavía en París?

- They are still thinking what to do.

- Until what time? ¿Hasta qué hora? Formal

- Till what time? ¿Hasta qué hora? Informal

- I'll work until dawn. Trabajaré hasta el amanecer. Formal

- I'll work till dawn. Informal

-She'll be here until/till six.

this is actually incorrect till in spanish means hasta(finish)

Until means hast, (but to start)

e.g -Until you pay me ill do it
-Hasta que me pagues empezare a hacerlo

-Till you pay me ill do it
-Lo estare haciendo hasta que me pagues (indicates that he will stop)

e.g -Until you Pay me ill do it

-Till you Pay me ill do it
-Lo estaré haciendo hasta que me Pagues (indicates that he will stoP)

Hello! I am from Argentina and I think this double “no” we use in spanish can be a little confusing.
When you want to express that you will continue with an action until a fact happens, then you use Simple future + until or till + present. For example: I will be here until you leave. In spanish it means “Me quedo hasta que te vayas” or what has the same meaning “No me voy hasta que no te vayas” (I wont leave until (or before) you leave).
“Until you pay me, I will do it” sounds like blackmailing. If you want that I stop doing this, then pay me. In spanish the right form is “Lo haré hasta que me pagues”.
For expressing “I wont do it until (or before) you pay me” you use both “No lo haré hasta que me pagues” or “No lo haré hasta que no me pagues” in the same way.
Thank you for this blog!
