What would you do if you won the lottery?
Helen went to have a coffee with her colleague, Paul, in the
office. She asked him:
“Paul, what would you do if you won the lottery?”
“I would travel around the world and I would buy a house in
the woods where I would do all the things I don’t have time to do now like
reading or going for a walk”, replied Paul
“And you? What would you do if you won the lottery?” he
asked.
“It would be a big prize, right?” Helen asked.
“Yes, a big prize” said Paul.
“Well, I’m a dreamer so I would like all of my dreams to
come true. I would go to Paris and then to Venice. And, of course, I would quit
my job and buy a farm”, said Helen.
“Would you buy a farm in the countryside? I really don’t see
you living like a farmer, you’re such a city person”, said Paul.
“I would hire workers to do the work for me”, answered
Helen.
“Yes, but you would still have to organize everything and
give orders”, said Paul.
“No, problem. I would hire a manager”, answered Helen.
“Good idea. But for that you would need to win a huge
lottery prize”, said Paul.
“But you said the prize would be big”, said Helen.
“Yes, that’s right. But I still don’t think you would be a
very good farmer”, said Paul smiling.
“And you, Paul, I really think you wouldn’t be able to live
in a house in the woods, so isolated. You love to go clubbing with friends.
Don’t you?” asked Helen.
“Well, that’s true, but I would like to go to my house in
the woods at the weekends”, replied
Paul.
-”Yeah, but you wouldn’t go there more than one weekend per
month, I’m sure”, said Helen.

Helen fue con su
colega, Paul, a tomar un café en la oficina. Ella le preguntó:
-Paul ¿qué harías
si te tocara la lotería?
-Un viaje
alrededor del mundo; y me gustaría comprar una casa en el bosque donde haría
todas las cosas que ahora no tengo tiempo de hacer, como leer o salir a dar un
paseo, respondió Paul
-Y ¿tú? ¿Qué
harías si te tocara la lotería? preguntó
Paul.
-Un premio grande,
¿verdad? -preguntó Helen.
-Sí, un gran
premio, dijo Paul.
-Bueno, soy una
soñadora, así que me gustaría que todos mis sueños se hicieran realidad. Iría a
París y luego a Venecia. Y, por supuesto, me gustaría dejar mi trabajo y
comprarme una granja, dijo Helen.
-¿Una granja en el
campo? Realmente no te veo viviendo como granjera, eres una persona de la
ciudad, dijo Paul.
-Contrataría a trabajadores para hacer el
trabajo, respondió Helen
-Sí, pero aun así
tendrías que organizar todo y dar órdenes, dijo Paul.
-Ningún problema.
Contrataría a un gerente, respondió Elena.
-Buena idea. Pero
para eso tendrías que ganar un gran premio de la lotería, dijo Paul.
-Pero me dijiste
que el premio sería grande, dijo Helen.
-Sí, es cierto.
Pero aun así no creo que fueras muy buena como granjera, dijo Paul sonriendo.
Y tú, Pablo,
realmente creo que no serías capaz de vivir en una casa en el bosque, tan
aislado. Te encanta ir a bailar con tus amigos. ¿No? preguntó Helen.
-Bueno, eso es
cierto, pero me gustaría ir los fines de semana a mi casa en el bosque,
respondió Paul.
- Sí, pero no
irías más de un fin de semana al mes, estoy segura, dijo Helen.
